Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, has appointed Nollywood actresses Rachael Okonkwo and Eucharia Anunobi as aides in his administration.
The appointments were contained in a statement issued by the Secretary to the Enugu State Government, Prof. Chidiebere Onyia, on Monday, September 21, 2026, and took effect immediately.
Okonkwo, popularly known as Nkoli Nwa Nsukka, was appointed Senior Special Assistant on Film and Creative Industry Development.
The actress, whose full name is Nnenna Rachael Okonkwo, is known for her roles in Nollywood, particularly the *Nkoli Nwa Nsukka* film series. She hails from Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area of Enugu State.
Veteran actress Eucharia Anunobi was appointed Special Assistant on Women Mobilisation for Enugu-North Zone. Anunobi rose to prominence in Nollywood in the 1990s and has featured in numerous films before becoming an evangelist.
The two actresses were among 101 aides appointed by Mbah across the positions of Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistants and Special Assistants. The appointments cover various areas, including creative industry development, youth engagement, women mobilisation, community development, infrastructure, technology and public communication.
Okonkwo’s appointment places her in charge of a portfolio directly focused on the film and creative sector, while Anunobi’s role centres on women mobilisation in the Enugu-North zone.
