2027: Primate Ayodele Warns Tinubu Against Complacency Over Second-Term Bid

The Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Elijah Ayodele, has cautioned President Bola Ahmed Tinubu against taking his second-term ambition lightly ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In a statement issued by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, the cleric described the President’s re-election prospects as uncertain, warning that prevailing political and socio-economic realities could pose significant challenges if not urgently addressed.

Ayodele claimed that individuals within the President’s inner circle were misleading him, creating a false sense of security about his political standing.

According to him, “Tinubu’s second term is shaky. The area of security needs divine intervention, the economy is very flat, and the President is surrounded by people who are not telling him the truth. Those praising him may not have his best interests at heart.”

He further alleged that the President was being shielded from the realities on ground, suggesting that a clearer picture of the situation may only emerge after the elections.

While noting that the President has the potential to secure a second term, the cleric warned that current circumstances could complicate that path if not addressed decisively.

Ayodele also pointed to the North and South-East regions as critical areas that may determine the outcome of the election, stating that both zones currently present political uncertainties for the ruling party.

“You will have major challenges in the North and South-East. These regions are not yet secured politically, and it remains unclear if there are immediate solutions,” he said.

He emphasized the need for urgent attention to issues of insecurity and economic performance, describing both as key factors that could influence voter sentiment in the coming election cycle.

The cleric concluded by urging Nigerians to remain prayerful and actively engaged, stressing the importance of national unity and peaceful participation as the country prepares for the 2027 general elections.
