Fulham Submit Improved €20m Bid for Nigerian Defender Chibuike Nwaiwu

Premier League club Fulham have intensified their pursuit of Nigerian defender Chibuike Nwaiwu after submitting an improved €20 million bid for the highly rated centre-back.

According to Turkish publication Fanatik, Fulham's initial offer of €15 million was rejected by Trabzonspor, prompting the London club to return with an increased proposal.

Despite the improved bid, Trabzonspor are reportedly unwilling to part with the 22-year-old unless a club meets their valuation of between €30 million and €35 million.

West Ham Also Monitoring Nwaiwu

Nwaiwu's impressive performances have also attracted interest from fellow Premier League side West Ham United, who are said to be keeping a close watch on the defender's situation.

The Nigerian centre-back joined Turkish giants Trabzonspor from Austrian club Wolfsberger AC in January and has enjoyed a rapid rise since arriving in Turkey.

His commanding displays in defence have seen him establish himself as one of Trabzonspor's standout performers, earning admiration from several clubs across Europe.

Fulham are believed to be eager to bolster their defensive options ahead of the new Premier League season, with Nwaiwu emerging as one of their priority targets.

However, negotiations are expected to continue as Trabzonspor remain firm on their asking price for the promising Nigerian defender.

With interest growing from multiple Premier League clubs, the coming weeks could prove decisive in determining whether Nwaiwu secures a move to England this summer.
